Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About IV Therapy

Answers to the most common questions about IV drips, glutathione, weight loss injections, vitamin shots, and memberships at The Hydro Drip Bar.

General & Safety

IV therapy delivers vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fluids directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line. Unlike oral supplements, IV therapy bypasses the digestive system entirely — delivering nutrients at 100% absorption for immediate cellular use. Sessions take 30–60 minutes in a comfortable reclining chair.
Yes — when administered by licensed medical professionals. At The Hydro Drip Bar, every treatment is given by a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) under the direct medical supervision of Dr. Guillermo Castillo, Board Certified Family Medicine. All vitamin preparations come from FDA-compliant compounding facilities. We complete a health screening before every session.
All IV drips and injections are administered by licensed Registered Nurses (RNs). The clinic was founded by Ricky Sarmiento RN,BSN and Mary Grace Sarmiento RN,BSN. Medical oversight is provided by Dr. Guillermo Castillo, MD — so you are always in qualified hands.
Most clients feel noticeably better within hours of their first drip — improved energy, mental clarity, hydration, or relief from symptoms like headache or fatigue. For skin-brightening goals like glutathione, visible results appear after 3–6 weekly sessions.
IV drips deliver nutrients directly into a vein over 30–60 minutes, achieving very high blood concentrations ideal for deep replenishment. Vitamin shots are intramuscular injections that take under 5 minutes and absorb through the muscle into the bloodstream. Both bypass digestion — shots are faster, drips deliver larger volumes and higher concentrations.
We require physician clearance before treating pregnant clients. Basic saline hydration and B vitamins are used in medical settings during pregnancy, but high-dose glutathione, NAD+, and GLP-1 medications are not appropriate during pregnancy. Always consult your OB-GYN first. Read our full IV therapy and pregnancy guide for details.
For general wellness and energy, most clients visit once or twice a month. For skin brightening with glutathione, weekly sessions for 4–6 weeks give the best results, then monthly maintenance. Our membership plans are built around these cadences and save you money.

IV Drip Treatments

We offer seven signature IV drips: Gluta Max ($229) for skin brightening, Myers Cocktail ($229) for immunity and energy, Fountain of Youth ($229) for anti-aging (most popular), Energy Boost ($199) for fatigue, Hangover Relief ($199) for rapid recovery, Immune Booster ($199) for cold and flu defense, and Migraine Relief ($199) for headache relief. See our full treatment menu.
The Myers Cocktail ($229) is a classic IV infusion developed by physician John Myers, containing magnesium, calcium, B vitamins (B1 through B12), and Vitamin C. It is widely used for immune support, energy, migraines, fibromyalgia, asthma, and general wellness. It is one of the most researched IV formulas in clinical use.
The Fountain of Youth ($229) is our most popular drip. It is an anti-aging IV infusion containing biotin for hair and skin, Vitamin C, collagen-supporting nutrients, and deep hydration. Most clients notice a visible skin glow and improved energy after just one session. Perfect for aging skin, dryness, hair loss, and general rejuvenation.
Our Hangover Relief IV ($199) is formulated specifically for rapid hangover recovery. It delivers 1 liter of saline, electrolytes, B vitamins, and anti-nausea support directly into the bloodstream. Most clients feel significantly better within 30–45 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome — no appointment needed at any of our four locations.
The Energy Boost IV ($199) targets fatigue and brain fog with B-complex vitamins, amino acids, and hydration. For deeper cellular energy, NAD+ shots ($45–$80) replenish the coenzyme that powers mitochondria. The Myers Cocktail ($229) is also popular for sustained energy and mental clarity throughout the day.
Yes. IV therapy is popular among athletes for faster recovery, electrolyte replenishment, and performance optimization. The Energy Boost and Myers Cocktail are favorites for pre-event priming and post-workout recovery. Amino acid shots ($25–$35) support muscle recovery and protein synthesis in under 5 minutes.

Glutathione IV Therapy

Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant — a tripeptide naturally produced by every cell. It neutralizes free radicals, supports liver detoxification, strengthens the immune system, reduces inflammation, and plays a critical role in skin pigmentation. Levels decline with age, stress, and poor diet. IV glutathione replenishes it instantly at therapeutic concentrations oral supplements cannot achieve.
Yes — this is one of glutathione's most well-documented effects. High-dose IV glutathione inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase, which produces melanin (skin pigment). The result is a more even skin tone, reduced dark spots and hyperpigmentation, and a natural inner glow. Results typically appear after 3–6 weekly sessions and become more dramatic with continued maintenance therapy.
For skin brightening: 4–8 weekly sessions for initial results, then monthly maintenance. For general antioxidant and immune support: once or twice a month is sufficient. Our Premier Membership ($199/month) is designed for consistent glutathione maintenance and includes one IV drip per month.
Significantly better. Oral glutathione supplements are largely degraded by digestive enzymes before reaching the bloodstream — achieving only 10–20% absorption. IV glutathione delivers the full therapeutic dose directly into the blood at 100% bioavailability for immediate cellular uptake. This is why clinicians use IV administration for any meaningful glutathione therapy.

Medical Weight Loss (GLP-1)

Tirzepatide is a dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonist weight loss injection. It reduces appetite, slows gastric emptying, and improves insulin sensitivity. Clinical trials (SURMOUNT-1) showed an average weight loss of 20–22% of body weight — among the highest of any approved weight loss medication. At The Hydro Drip Bar, it starts at $299/month, with a new client introductory rate of $99 for the first month.
Retatrutide is a next-generation triple receptor agonist targeting GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors — making it more potent than Tirzepatide. Phase 2 trials showed up to 24% average body weight reduction. It is ideal for clients who have plateaued on other GLP-1 medications or who need a more aggressive protocol. At The Hydro Drip Bar, Retatrutide starts at $399/month.
New clients get their first month of Tirzepatide for just $99 — that is four weekly injections at 2.5mg, valued at $299. You save $200 on your first month. After that, the program continues at $299/month with dose adjustments as needed. Book online or call (951) 319-2382 to get started.
IV therapy supports weight loss efforts by improving energy, hydration, and nutrient status — reducing fatigue, boosting metabolism, and supporting exercise recovery. However, IV drips alone are not a clinically proven weight loss treatment. For actual fat loss, our GLP-1 medical weight loss program (Tirzepatide or Retatrutide) delivers real, measurable results.

Vitamin Shots & NAD+

We offer: B12 ($20), Biotin ($25) for hair and skin, Amino Acid Blend ($25) for muscle recovery, Alpha Lipoic Acid ($30) for antioxidant and blood sugar support, Amino Acid + B12 Combo ($35), and NAD+ shots in 100mg ($45) and 200mg ($80) doses. All are intramuscular injections taking under 5 minutes.
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme essential for cellular energy production, DNA repair, and healthy aging. Levels decline 50% between ages 40 and 60. NAD+ shots replenish it for improved mental clarity, energy, metabolism, and longevity. Popular with anyone over 35, biohackers, executives, and clients managing chronic fatigue. Our NAD+ shots ($45–$80) are the fastest delivery method available.
Biotin (Vitamin B7) supports hair growth, nail strength, and healthy skin. Our intramuscular Biotin shot ($25) bypasses digestive absorption for maximum bioavailability — far more effective than oral biotin supplements. Most clients combine it with a Gluta Max or Fountain of Youth drip for a complete beauty and wellness session.
